Ray Tsuji

Ray was born and raised in the best northern town in BC: Prince Rupert. 14 year ago Ray decided to leave the slower life of Prince Rupert and moved to Richmond, but now resides and works in Steveston village.

Prior to becoming a barber, Ray worked for Pacific Net and Twine in the commercial fishing industry for 8 years and has even been known to ’spin records’ DJing for clubs. With an active love of music Ray loves to sing in his spare time and was also a singer in a couple of bands.

After trying his hand in some other professions Ray realised his best assets were his friendly nature, great rapport with the public and his natural artistic talents. Iain the owner of Steveston Barbers connected well with Ray and trained him for 2 years. After which Iain hired Ray full time. Ray loves his work because of the interaction with the different people he meets (young and old), has become great friends with his colleagues and really loves using the skills he has learned as a barber.

When he isn’t working, Ray can usually be found at the Blue Canoe or Caesars enjoying a cold beer and talking about the day with friends.
