Ryan Lewis

Ryan was trained in hairdressing at Vancouver Community College and worked in Whistler and Vancouver before joining Steveston Barbers in 1998.

In 2000, Ryan began around the world travels including the US, Europe and Asia and finally settling in Australia. He met his wife Amanda in Perth and they married in 2003. He continued his hairdressing career in Australia until 2006, when they returned to Canada, and Ryan returned to Steveston Barbers.

Ryan enjoyed his time traveling but is happy being back in Steveston and values being part of such a vital community and a workplace that offers a social and lighthearted atmosphere. “I really enjoy interacting with different kinds of people, the social aspect is what I enjoy the most. We are always joking with the customers and with each other and always try to create a easy going, fun environment.”

In addition to his talent with scissors, Ryan has a love of food, cooking, wine and beer. He has completed several intense courses and is currently working toward his Sommelier and Cicerone diplomas, a three-year endeavor.

Ryan loves to share his knowledge and passion with others and is available to assist with information/recommendations for travel plans, food and wine consulting and for party/wedding consultation and menu design.
